Net Energy Positive Home

The house that used to sit on this lot was recycled into many parts of the new home. From the framing to the handrails to the front porch structure, echos can be found if you look for them. This home was built for a family to grow into. Big open public spaces and amenities to make life easier can be found throughout the house, like the laundry chute or the central vacuum, but the super efficient systems are the real features here. Super insulation and air sealing coupled with a Mini-split heat pump that heats and cools the upper and main floor and a Sanden CO2 heat pump which heats the basement concrete slab and supplies hot water to the home. A 9 KV Solar system supplies electrical power and as there is no gas to this home; this makes it easy to regulate and track power consumption. The kitchen features locally made  custom cabinets and durable Richlite countertops. The exterior is sided with Corten steel which rusts to a certain point and then stops, and is both long-lasting and maintenance free.
