Additional Family Additional Floor
This “War Box” home needed to expand. Not nearly big enough for the family with 4 teenagers, the solution was a two-story addition that more than doubled the size of the original house.
Three bedrooms and a loft were added as well as a big new kitchen and an adjacent sunken family room. The kitchen features custom cherry cabinets with Richlite counters and a Island with a countertop made from a lane from an old bowling alley from the area. Great storage is provided from the pantry with full-depth pull-outs and cubbies for coats and shoes (and cleats in this case). The home is heated and cooled with a mini-split system and hot water is provided by an on-demand hot water heater so everyone gets a hot shower after coming home from a cold game or going skiing.
